The “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” Award Ceremony
An Ultimate Essence: The Century Paragon 
 
As we may already know, a leader with vision and innovation is needed in Taiwan’s corporate world, even more so in an environment where the global economy is so volatile and competition in Asia is becoming ever more acute. The winner of the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” award, which is commonly known as the “Olympic Games for Entrepreneurs” is about to be announced. At this very moment, we can see that the elite entrepreneurs of Taiwan can demonstrate their strengths in sensing out the trends and responding to those trends with proper means; they all can withstand and excel in the competition. 
 
This was the 10th anniversary of the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” award ceremony in Taiwan, and it was held on November 20 2014, at Le Meridien Taipei. The judges of the award are elites from industry, government, and the academic circles. It took them 5 months of screening and evaluation to make the final judgment. Awards are presented to the best performing entrepreneur and winners in the aspects of strategy excellence, transitional benchmark, environmental protection, digital pioneer, intelligent brand, and perpetual business. 
 
Mr. James Wang, the CEO of Sercomm Corporation, emerged as the winner of the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2014. He will represent Taiwan in competing alongside the best entrepreneurs from around the globe and to be named the EY World Entrepreneur of The Year” in Monte Carlo, Monaco by June 2015.

The “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” awards program is the first truly global business award of its kind, honoring entrepreneurs of excellence. The program was created by EY in the United States in 1986, and has expanded to more than 60 countries after 27 years of development. Past Entrepreneur of the Year winners have included business luminaries such as Guy Laliberte of Cirque du Soleil, Michael Dell of Dell Computer, Howard Shultz of Starbucks, and Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com.
 
The “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” Taiwan program was established in 2005 to recognize entrepreneurs of excellence in leadership, growth, and dynamics. Some 50 business leaders in all industries have been awarded. This program also inspires the corporate elites of Taiwan to show their strength in the world arena side-by-side with successful entrepreneurs all over the world. Winners of the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year” awards over the years were invited to the “EY Entrepreneur of The Year Forum”. The insights of the outstanding entrepreneurs in the trend of economic development and their experience of successful business operation triggered the response from the industry, government, and the academic circles.

James Wang, CEO of Sercomm Corporation, holds an MBA degree from Harvard University and an ME degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He has over 20 year of experience in the technology and networking industry. James demonstrates his visionary move in digital convergence with positive result, and is recognized as the winner in the “EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 Taiwan” and “Strategy Excellence Paradigm Entrepreneur of the Year”. 
 
About 10 years before cloud applications emerged as the mainstream in market, James had already sensed out the extensive application of networking communication. He then committed full efforts in the research and development to IP technologies and solutions for various applications and related networking software and firmware integration services. His exact judgment of market trends and focus in the technology research and development allowed his operation to emerge as a comprehensive networking equipment supplier. He led his company to successfully transform into a technology partner of global telecom operators. The company has also achieved lucrative revenue and profit repeatedly with leading market share. He successfully created brand recognition in global communication and inspired the others in the electronic OEM sector of Taiwan in business model transformation.
